Invigorating Massage Therapy
About the Practitioner

I received my formal massage training from the McKinnon Body Therapy Center located in Oakland CA. I'm trained and certified in Swedish, Deep Tissue and Sports Massage modalities.  I received my California state license certification in 2012 as a Certified Massage Practitioner.                                      I enjoy making clients feel good about their bodies regardless of their age, size, or condition and find it very rewarding knowing that I can make a positive difference in the way a person feels.  I know exactly what it feels like to live with life’s aches and pains from strenuous wear and tear on the body.  I fell into the field of massage therapy work as a client having sustained sports-related vertebrae disc injuries to my lower back and neck.  After years of massage, yoga, medication, physical and chiropractic therapy, I was able turn my fate around into helping others through the gift of touch.

I have a Masters degree in Public Health and have been working off and on in the field for the past 25 years.  I started my massage practice as a way to extend that work helping individuals rather than managing programs.

I consider myself an aging athlete who enjoys staying active.  I've played amateur soccer for most of my life in local recreational league, as well as national and international competition tournaments.  Alternative to playing soccer I work out at the gym or practice Bikram yoga and on occasion I get out on the tennis court.  I've run marathon races in San Francisco ('84 & '86) and New York ('94) so I know a thing or two about athletic training having also participated in the AIDS Lifecycle (ALC).  I volunteered as a therapist for the ALC Massage Team in 2012 and 2013 working on hundreds of cyclists all the way to L.A and even rode as a cyclist myself in 2007 and 2014.
